La Novia de Don Quijote

Lets see what is new, other than I haven't blogged in nearly two weeks. The last several weeks I have been getting in a lot of fights with this guy called 1993 Toyota Hilux. He seems to have a problem with me everywhere I go. So basically I have been fighting car problems. Whatever--- just another aspect of life. It would be nice if the fuel gauge worked---- but who cares, because maybe I will run out of diesel somewhere and then end up in some cool story with someone else. That is kind of how things go down here. Other than car problems we have just been hanging around. Here is a picture from today, we had lunch at our pastor's house and this is his youngest daughter Sugel.

Last week we went to Panama, we only have 90 day visas so we had to leave the country to get a new stamp. We had a good time--- enjoyed watching TV and walking around to different stores. One of our favorite events was when we found a Price Smart (basically Sam's Club) and we just walked every isle and just looked at things. For a moment I felt like I was in Baton Rouge just doing some bulk shopping. We didn't buy anything, but it was cool to just look. We also caught a lot of news updates, mostly centered around the Virginia Tech tragedy. It is really wild how the rest of the world keeps up with US news, even in a little fabric store we were in they were watching CNN in Spanish about the tragedy. We found some really cheap restaurants in Panama--- the prices were much cheaper than here. We went out to eat the first night in like a small diner establishment--- it cost us $6.30 and then when we were leaving we found $5 on the floor--- so it turned out to be a good venture. We spent a little more on the hotel, but found it to be somewhat shotty. We have scouted out some other places for the future that are half the price and possibly better/equivalent room quality. We also found some awesome old Ford fire trucks, so here is our debut with the 1970's Ford fire trucks.

Work slowly continues on the project. We have been running into a wall lately. We can't seem to get materials up the mountain, but possibly we will have some break through. Please be praying for this specifically. It has been placing us behind schedule, but I know that God has great reason and a specific purpose for all of this. So little by little we are getting things done, pray that the materials will get up the road and that things will really take off from there. Once we have the materials we will have 30+ workers on-site working on the main building. We are about 3-4 weeks behind which would finish out most of the building by the end of August. So the timing isn't too bad, it just gets monotonous sometimes for me to just be waiting around for those who only don't show up. I have fallen asleep a few times up on the site, it is a really awesome place to fall asleep---- extremely peaceful. It is really going to be awesome for the pastors and church leaders to come to. I want to go stay the night up there sometime in the near future.

In my latest wild life adventures I have come across many toucans and monkeys. Last week I snuck up on a pack of howler monkeys, I wasn't too far from them. It was really cool, I need a large digital SLR camera to really get some good pictures of them. So if you know anyone getting rid of a digital SLR camera let me know. We have also made an addition to our family once more. We found a little abused puppy with a big gash on its side. We aren't sure if we are keeping her, but we have been nurturing her back to health. We have named her Dulcinea, and Don Quijote enjoys attacking her and playing with her and being jealous of her. They play really rough, but they seem to be a good duo. Well that is all I have. Until next time....
