Curves de Honduras

Well I made it through my first week of class. I learned a whole bunch of reglas (rules) dealing with syllable and pronunciation
It is a lot to learn and practice but I have been trying to read aloud each night and get a good feel for the different types of words there are (agudas, graves, y esdrújulas). One thing I have really liked about learning with Fabiola is that 90% of my class time is en español. I learn why things are the way they are and how to differentiate where the sí­laba toní­ca (strong syllable) is en español instead of hearing the rules in íngles. It is kind of hard but I think I can get it. The first picture here is a place I pass by everyday on my way to classes. If you look real closely above the black SUV is a sign that says "Curves". Obviously Curves has a franchise here in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I thought that was kind of random. I have been meaning to post something about it and kept fogetting, so today I brought my camera.

This afternoon I went with Mark (Sarah´s brother) to the infamous Coca-Cola sign. It is kind of random if you ask me. It is basically huge white letters (kind of like the Hollywood sign in California) on the side of one of the mountains here in San Pedro that says, "Coca-Cola". Its been there a while and the people here seem to like it. But anyways, there are trails and a road that go to the top. Its about a 40 minute hike to the top, it was pretty cool. They had a bunch of birds and what have you. I was hoping to see some iguanas but no luck... Maybe next time. Here is a picture from the top of the Coca-Cola sign overlooking the valley that San Pedro Sula sits in. It is a pretty awesome site. I am supposed to be going fishing tomorrow with Mark a la playa de Omoa. That should be a lot of fun... except for the whole waking up at 5:45am -but whatever.
