¡Vamos a la playa!

This last weekend about killed me. Friday I went up to the Coca-Cola sign and ended up staying up real late studying Spanish and eating baleadas with Gracia and her friend from school. So then I had to wake up early Saturday morning because Mark, Yanira, and I went to Omoa. Omoa was pretty awesome. It is a awesome sight to see both the tropical cost along with the mountains. We went fishing for probably about 5 or 6 hours. It was a lot of fun even though I only caught like a 2 inch fish. The scenery made up for the lack of fish. We rented a boat there which cost us something like $16. Oh yeah, that has been the other thing I really like about Honduras.... Everything is so cheap (except electronics... I guess you have to go to Japan for that). But we had a blast in Omoa. I think Mark and Yanira ended up catching like 5 or 6 fish... It ended up being a debate as to whether or not they were going to keep the fish they caught. Mark won out and brought the fish home.... You can´t tell a man to throw away his catch of the day! But there really wasn´t any debate as to whether we were going to keep minnowow/fish. It really took me all of 5 seconds to real him in. The fishing trip actually fit well with about the last 6 fishing trips I have been on back at home...We woke up early, I caught a fish first thing in the morning, got a nibble a little while after that, and then spent the rest of the day casting a line into the water...But here it was bit more beautiful than the marsh of Louisiana. Maybe if Louisiana was this pretty I wouldn´t fall asleep so much in the boat.

After our fishing adventure in Omoa we went on to the main event. In Omoa they have the military base (or something of that nature) of San Fernando de Omoa. It was a pretty awesome sight. I think it is from sometime during the later 1700s. That is me (obviously) standing next to some type of crest. It was a pretty intricate statue/crest/whatever you want to call it. It was pretty neat to see such a unique piece of history. This was probably my favorite part of Omoa.Touring the castle/fortress/military base. I have too many picturesurs of San Fernando´s crib to post on here so if your interested in seeing more too bad! Just joking, but if you do want to see more (I think this is going to work let me know if it doesn´t) I have uploaded them on this website: http://lsu.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2044129&l=5650b&id=23424351

Once we got back from Omoa I wanted to crash but I ended up going to Applebee´s with Gracia, Natalia, and then this Korean guy who liked this girl Natalia met up with us. I told the kids back home (specifically Jacob Schoen) that if I met a Chinese person in Honduras I would let him know. Well he isn´t from china but he is from Korea. So Jacob it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Si Ming Park. Yeah it was a pretty funny sight & sound hearing a Korean person speak perfect Spanish.... but whatever I guess the sky is the limit with these kinds of things. The girl with the blond hair has her own interesting story. For short her dad is from Guatemala, her mom is from Romania, she was born in Brazil, and now lives in Honduras. That's about all I have to say about that. ¡No me gusta los diptongos!

Jake. Yeah that was pretty sloppy... ¡NAH BRUH! So you want to come to Honduras? Ask your parents if they will let you go and I will take you. You need to get a passport. How is your mexican friend and your spanish coming along? Maybe you can convince your parents to let you come to Honduras with me one day because it will enhance your learning experience (hey thats what I did and it worked....j/j).

Jake-- You´re right I would hate waking up that early. Sounds like your mexican friend speaks english about the same as I speak spanish. Litmus paper doesn´t know anything about fishing. Don´t let her fool you.
