So I have been bad at keeping up with my blog. But, what do you expect when you live out of a suitcase for 6 weeks. So now we are back home. It has been good to come back home, and I really feel like this is our home. Not just because we have the majority of our “stuff” here, but because it truly has become home for us. We have begun to establish friendships here and that will hopefully last for a lifetime. Just before we had left we began to feel more settled, and this time around we feel settled more than ever. Especially since we now have a telephone in our house with internet! So this will mark my first blog from the sofa of our house--- it is so good to be able to do this from home. Hopefully this will help me stay up with the blog a little better. Lord willing this will help speed some things up with the project as well. As often there are e-mails to be sent and documents to be scanned, but to do something as simple as that could take 30min-1hour because of driving to a cafe, etc... So we are really thankful to the Lord for this. The frog is one of the latest creatures we found in our house. We have been back now for almost 2 weeks and
we have a good time. Unpacking, re situating, and getting ready to go for the upcoming year. The Lord really blessed us by allowing us to get the truck fixed (which broke down before we left) and get internet all within our first week of being back. All our luggage made it here safely (except for a few minor items within), which was great as we were able to bring down a lot of our personal things from the States. This has been really nice, having some things in the house that we are used to. I didn't have a picture that described anything I was writing here so I decided I would us this one of me and the bat suit. You know how when you are watching a news channel or sports channel there is the ticker at the bottom of the screen? Well imagine this being the ticker and I will put some random things
that have happened lately. So here is your ticker for us: We bought a Christmas tree, though we won't actually be here for the day of Christmas-----I love real Christmas tress-----We celebrated Thanksgiving with some friends from america, costa rica, and el salvador-----The project is moving along well and is about 4-5 weeks out from finishing the grey work-----Our college football team, LSU, lost last night 50-48----We were not happy about this----Don Quijote is now on a schedule for his disobedient chicken chasing-----He now remains chained up from 11am - 5pm-----This hours are typical chicken grazing times----- Well thats all I can think of for now regarding that. If I think of anything else I will add it.Its too bad I can’t recall all the awesome memories we have from our 6 weeks in the states and the last 2 weeks here. But I will leave you with at least one story. While we were in my hometown I had the chance to minister to an “old” friend. He was one of the kids that was in our
junior high youth group at one time. We had first become friends when he was around 12 years old and decided to jump head first out of the car. From that day on it was like the Lord gave us some kind of special bond. After a while some distance has grown between us but I have been able to sow seeds in his life in the past year. While we were there in my hometown Nick, my friend, was in a car wreck with 5 other friends, 4 of which died in the crash. Nick was pretty banged up in the wreck but is recovering well, and began an in-patient rehab just as we came back to Central America. The Lord opened up the opportunity for me to be able to sow into Nick’s life again. So I am really grateful for this, but I ask that all of you join with me in praying for Nick. Pray specifically that the Lord would reveal Himself to Nick in a special way and that Nick would come to know the comfort of the Prince of Peace in his life.
