El falso 4 de Julio

The main training facility building is soon to have a roof! This is good news since we have a team coming at the end of April to stain, score, and seal the floors of the main facility. The work continues at a rapid pace with a high quality of craftsmanship --- this is probably any contractors dream: speed and reliability. I believe we are well on our way for a open date of mid June 2008. These are exciting days and expensive! So please join us in by praying that all funds will be available as we push on. This project is the King's and we know that nothing can thwart the plans of the King of kings. If you haven’t received our March 2008 newsletter and would like to then please e-mail me jason@jasonysarah.com and I will send it to you.

And now onto a different subject. The fake 4th of July. Maybe you have never had a fake 4th of July party and maybe you are wondering why on earth we would have a fake 4th of July in a country whose independence is not celebrated on the 4th of July. The truth of the matter is we didn’t intend to have a fake 4th of July party, it was just something that happened. Here is the story: We invited our lawyer and his family over for lunch and then the plan was that we would later go to the beach. Later that afternoon a friend of ours from the capital city called to see if he and his family could come stay with a couple of days because everyone was on vacation for Holy Week (Easter). We were glad to have our friends from the capital over and our lawyer and his family. Later that afternoon we received a call that the Lawyer was going to have some of his friends come as well. In the end: What began as an 8 person gathering turned into a 20+ person party that ended with a soccer game on the beach. It was a fun time, but for some reason it reminded me of good memories I have of hanging out with friends and family for 4th of July. So it was our first official fake 4th of July party. A special note to my sister Jill: You will be glad to know that this group picture was taken on time with my gorilla pod wrapped around a stick that was stuck in the sand (If you don’t know what a gorilla pod is go to Best Buy and check it out--- you may fall in love).

As usual we try to document the wildlife that we find in/on our house, around our house, and those who are crawling and flying around the community. Lately we discovered a nest of parrots in a tree trunk behind our house, thanks to our neighbors. During the day they crawl up the tree trunk and hide, but at night they are bundled up in the bottom and easy to see. So one night I went out there armed with my cool new LED headlight that I bought at Bass Pro Shop for $5 and our camera and caught this cool picture of the baby parrot. We wish we could just take one out and keep it as a pet, but this is very illegal. But it is still really cool to have them living behind our house for a little while.

Lastly a special shout out to Secret Smith (not the real name, it is just that we don't know her name because it is a secret). Congrats Ben & Robyn ( I am guessing you guys had your baby!) Now you hold the special responsability of starting a blog about your child's life. Oh yeah and the whole responsability part about caring, raising, teaching, etc...

FYI...Secret Smith's name is Andi Leigh. We have not gotten to see her yet because we have been sick, but we will later this week when we bring them some grub.
