Respirar

It has been nice to have some time to breathe and wake up knowing that everyone is gone. It was an awesome summer, but here at the end I wanted to disappear and never hear anyone ask me another question---- even if it was just a simple one. But after a couple of days of going to bed early and sleeping late, I think I am back to some normalcy. Except last night, I stayed up a little late in my new attempt to up the security in the back section of our home. I still like the idea of connecting 220v to the metal fencing behind our house, but I think it might end up killing the cat and those who want to break into our house. It is an interesting deal to walk through when someone is trying to break in your home. I have thought of some interesting solutions, like breaking the legs and arms of the robbers--- but I have come to conclude that there is only one thing that can change the petty robbers of our community... Jesus Christ. Only the Holy Spirit can change these guys and show them that He is their provider and that He alone is the sufficiency of this life and world.

So now what's next? Well there aren't any teams penciled in right now, but that could change later in the year. Sarah's parents are coming to visit in a few days. We will be traveling to Ukraine and possibly the Middle East in a few weeks. We will also be looking to come and visit many of you this fall in the States. So it looks like we will be living in hotels and airports in the weeks to come. This can be fun and tiring, but I think it is going to be a very special time for us. Always an adventure lying around the corner. We will continue to move along with the work here. I had spoken about a trail we were building down to a waterfall. The team successfully etched steps all the way down to the river and then poured about half of those steps with cement. As usual, things became somewhat complicated and took a little longer. Nevertheless, a lot of process was made. I will be looking to hire out some local guys to finish up the remainder of the steps and install the posts for the hand rails. I am tossing around the idea of doing a swing bridge over the river at the end of the trail that will lead to the waterfall. So if any of you are swing bridge engineers, I would appreciate the help.

The main facility continues to move right along. Form boards are in place and joist are locked and loaded and the 3rd floor will be poured possibly this week. I have been promising pictures, and now I come through with my long procrastinated goal of getting pictures of the main facility. So here we go (you can just click on the pictures to make them larger).....
