Que ondas rana?

The last few days have been pretty good. We have started to see more and more wildlife. It is pretty neat.... one of these mornings we are going to wakeup early to see the Tucans. Our neighbor said they are only around at about 6am. I also saw a posion dart-frog yesterday but did not have my camera with me. Next time I will be ready. We had a little excitement yesterday when our electric meter basically caught on fire and melted. I think this might end up being good for us, because that means we got free electricity--- being the case that they couldn't read the numbers anymore. But the most incredible thing happened--- I was leaving the house when the neighbor showed me that it was melted, and by the time I returned within 2 hours the electric company had already come out, fixed the problem, and gave us a bran new meter. That is like a world record for "getting something done" in the 3rd world--- nevertheless Latin America. It would have been typical for them to say, "Maybe tomorrow" and then when tomorrow comes, "Maybe tomorrow" and this could progress for some time while we are roasting like pigs inside our little casita. Luckily we would have still been able to eat cooked food since everything runs on propane. We had a small explosion one day when the oven went out and was just filling with gas--- no one was hurt, and it was pretty cool after it was over. Right now I am waiting at the internet cafe on a contractor who is a possible prospect for the project. I am really praying something will work out with him, or someone he knows. We really need to get the ball rolling on this thing. I also found out that there is a pet store in a nearby city and they might have chiuahuahs, so you never know--- there may be an edition to the family. We are also making "master plans" for the master bedroom at our house. We realized that the back bedroom is like 10-15 degrees cooler than the front--- the front bedroom has no shade (except for at night time!). So we are planning on moving to the back bedroom, maybe today. But, we may paint it first or something--- who knows.
